FANCY DATES & FATTY PLATES

Reminiscing in the last bits of
what I ate this past summer...

Typing up this blog post is making miss all the delicious food I ate this past summer. My stomach is currently growling and my lack of kitchen food/supplies in my new apartment is making me a little depressed...

In this FOODLICIOUS post, I will show you what I ate in my last days of vacation: some dishes may seem quite appetizing and others, not so much. However, it's never a good idea to judge a food by its cover. Each bite I consumed of every meal was so delicious! Let me tell you a little something about all of them:

This is where I had a mother/daughter double-date with my best friend, her mom, and mine! The food here was as fancy as the resort and equally luxurious in taste. You could tell they put a lot of effort into creating their dishes and I hear the brunch is not so bad either!

This coffee shop is known for their hipster vibe and of course, their coffee! I tried their famous mint mojito one and let me tell you: I may not be an expert in coffee, but this blend was the perfect combination of sweet/minty/bitterness! Check it out if you're ever in Santa Monica~

For those of you who may know me, I am a donut-fanatic. I will eat donuts like it's nobody's business. So when I heard that a new Dunkin' Donuts had open all the way in the West Coast, I nearly fainted with glee. The donuts were as tasty as donuts can ever be and the aroma of the shop made me miss New York all the more...

Now, the pictures I took of these desserts do not do them any justice. This place has the best snow ice I've tried thus far. The spoonfuls of ice melt beautifully in your mouth and yummy fruit on top add a nice flavor to the overall dish.

I can't wait to share with you the food I eat down here in San Diego! Stay tuned for more yummy posts!

Ta ta for now,

Rachel

CRONUTS, PASTRAMI, & MORE:

One can never consume
too many cronuts...

I am back for another food entry on my blog! Let's get right into it, shall we?

One of many cute cafes in Koreatown, Los Angeles. My friends and I decided to share some Korean-style shaved ice packed with tons of fruit and ice cream (just thinking about it makes me miss my visits to Korea all the more!).

Probably the best pastrami sandwich I've tasted to date. The meat, sauce, and cheese melt beautifully into an amazing deli concoction. Their famous #9 meal is the perfect mix of salty and savory--plus the fries are made to a beautiful crisp! The place is great for a quick lunch meal, but can also accommodate families for dinner.

I have finally consumed the very hyped CRONUT and let me tell you: it's delish. Although the restaurant is known for their sandwiches, I purchased a nutella cronut as a light breakfast and devoured it with great, great pleasure. Make sure to visit in the morning when the pastries are fresh out of the oven!

Yogurtland, Chipotle, and Blaze Pizza: what do they all have in common? The food is customizable! Food that you personally prefer is always on top of my list. The thin crust and additional sauces (like pesto and BBQ) made this visit to Blaze an awesome experience.

I hope you enjoyed this yummy post! Did it make you drool a little?

Catch ya'll very soon,

Rachel

YUMMY IN MY TUMMY:

I introduce to you the first
of many food posts to come...

Sometimes, late at night, right before I fall into a deep slumber, I think about the wonderfully enticing food stops located around the world and how I will never be able to visit all of them just by the fact that there are so many of them--depressing isn't it?

But, I am blessed to say that I have been given the opportunities to visit even a sheer amount of the ever growing population of delectable cuisine destinations. In today's post, I give you three different, yet equally mouth-watering food stops which will begin my new topic of interest alongside the rest of my tabs located to the right of my blog's homepage.

To start:
This little parking area transforms into a sea of various meals--Mexican, Korean fusion, you name it. Every Thursday, different trucks park and sell only their most tasty treats. From Hawaiian poke to Asian tacos, this place is definitely a place to visit if you're ever in need for a food adventure!

You honestly can't go wrong with chicken and waffles...and Bruxie offers the perfect take on such a classic! Known for their variety of The Sandwich (waffles combined with other ingredients), Bruxie certainly does not disappoint whether you visit for a light lunch or family dinner. The waffles are made with a good amount of crispiness and the diner itself is elegantly decorated!

Have you ever heard of The Milky Bun? If not, then let me tell you: that beautiful bun combined with freshly made ice cream is probably the best thing since sliced bread. This joint has a variety of ice cream flavors (my fave so far is Jasmine Milk Tea) that can be eaten either in a milky bun or by itself. Sprinkle on some toppings and voila! The most delicious dessert is born.

I hope you've enjoyed these short and sweet reviews! Click on the links to find out more and let me know of more places I should visit in the comment section below.

Stay hungry folks,

Rachel
