Continuing the series with
another pair of...

...literally the most comfortable pair of sandals I've ever owned (yes I know I said that about the other one but I think these might be it for sure). This pair--Hemisphere from the Indulge collection--required no breaking-in and the cushion from Skechers' luxe foam design truly helped my feet from aching as they walked up and down my large campus. The design is quite simple, yet the black straps are placed perfectly so that my feet aren't constantly shuffling and forming blisters. These sandals also accommodated for my wide feet which I thoroughly enjoyed!

Extremely versatile and with lasting comfort, I'd give this pair an A! Hop on over to skechers.com to shop for your own pair, Click HERE to see Part I of my series with Skechers.

When comfort meets style...

I've had the awesome pleasure of working with Skechers last year for their fall collection (check out the article HERE). I'm back with the team again with a feature on the new Cali spring collection and can I just say that these sandals are quite possible the most comfortable shoes I've ever placed my feet in?

The pair I'm wearing in this post is the Sweet Tooth design from the Indulge collection. Not only does it match well with almost any outfit you'd style for the spring, but it also provides a lasting comfort that doesn't require any breaking in. The luxe foam padding truly makes for its great quality and I was greatly pleased that the sandals offer such luxury (especially if I plan on wearing them around all day).

Skechers definitely does not disappoint! Check out the collection online HERE and stay tuned for Part II of this series featuring another equally comfortable and stylish pair of sandals!

Third wheeling your parents is basically
the best thing ever...

Here's to a great and relaxed Spring Break! I took this week off school to do nothing but sleep, eat, catch up on my shows and repeat. Of course, I spent some time meeting up with my friends and spending way too much money on food (but hey, that's what the money's for right?).

My parent's and I decided to head over to Pasadena and visit one of my mom's favorite museums: Norton Simon Museum. This museum was a much needed destination both for its galleries and for its air-conditioned goodness. From Picasso to Manet to almost everything in between, this museum has a diverse collection of art that is sure to satisfy the aesthetic needs of many people. It even has a beautiful outdoor area where you can spot a few turtles swimming around and stop to smell the flowers on your stroll.

How was your break spent? Let me know what you were up to and if you visited any good food spots that I can add to my list!

Have a beautiful day,

In the emerald city...

For those who didn't get the reference, I quoted the title of this blog post after the title of a number in the musical Wicked. I just had to pay homage to this amazing production which I had the privilege to attend last week after about, oh I don't know, 7 years of waiting? My obsession with this musical began after my best friend went to watch it in 7th grade and from the moment she came back telling me all about how wonderful Wicked was, I began memorizing lyrics to songs and performing a one-woman act in front of the mirror in the hopes that I would one day watch it with my own two eyes--and that day has finally happened. Can I just say: God has given an insane amount of musical talent to some people and I would highly recommend attending a musical (even if it's not Wicked) to just appreciate the powerful voices and entertaining acting these folks have to offer?

Anyway, here's the outfit I wore to the event! I wore a star spangled shirt paired with distressed black denim jeans and my new ASOS boots! To add more structure, I layered a grey fitted peacoat I received as a hand-me-down over the outfit--isn't the little bow in the back the cutest? My bangs have started to grow out, so I just swept them over to the side (with the help of some wind) and held a cup of coffee (that was actually my friend's) as the finishing touch.

This is not a sponsored blog post but WICKED WAS AMAZING and I would definitely watch it again if I get the chance.

I'll see you in my next post!

Prepare your eyes for
an onslaught of blue hues...

Living in a beach city while at university is possibly one of the best things to happen to me...ever. Now, I was never much of a beach girl--in fact, I hated going visiting the ocean unless there was an incentive to eat yummy soft serve ice cream.

But living near one of the most beautiful shores on the west coast has definitely changed my perspective. Plus, how cool is to walk less than 10 minutes to catch yet another flawless sunset off the cliffs of La Jolla? It has really been a blessing so far to appreciate God's creation daily and I hope that one day ya'll can come down to San Diego to see this much awesome.

Here's a set of photos I shot of my friends Mel and Mish at the La Jolla Cove (which is home to some of the most docile seals ever!). Also, shout out to Bobboi aka home of one of the best gelato I have eaten in the West Coast thus far.

Feast your eyes on the all that azul~

That moment when the perfect dress
becomes a beautiful addition to your closet...

Alright, alright so maybe I'm being a little bit dramatic...

But let me tell you something: it was fate, the meeting between this dress and me. I had recently been on the search for a well-fitting denim-like dress and lo and behold, one appeared right before my eyes. Well, actually my mom laid eyes on it first and told me to try it on. Fit. Like. A. Glove.

It's actually quite difficult to find dresses that are the right length for me without it being too loose or too inappropriately short. So when this particular dress entered into my life, I had to say it was fate. Ending right above my knees, this article of clothing falls perfectly and is comfortable enough to spend a day shifting up and down and occasionally semi-squatting to take photos of my lovely friends (these were taken at Balboa Park in case you were wondering!).

Currently, this is my #1 favorite dress (as you can probably tell) and with its versatile style, I cannot wait to wear it in different looks for various occasions.

What's your favorite look/article of clothing right now? Let me know all about it in the comments below!

For those days when you want to
smell extra nice...

Finding the right perfume or cologne for your individual taste is often a struggle. The unending aisles of fragrances often seems daunting and not everyone has the time to smell each and every bottle the ladies at the counter offer. So what do you do in this dilemma?

I present to you Pinrose--a fragrance company based in San Francisco that makes the process of buying perfume easy and fun! All you have to do is take a synesthesia test that records your sensory preferences. After your answers are analyzed, you are presented with a prescription of fragrances fit just for your personality (I got Merry Maker, Ballroom Philosopher). The best part: you can receive free samples of the fragrance in little "petal packs" like the ones I've received in the above photos.

Here's an exclusive interview I got to have with Pinrose:

The Rachel Story: What is so unique about Pinrose?

Pinrose: It's not the average fragrance company in the sense that we truly want to help you find the perfect fragrance that is right for your exact style and liking. We have you go through our synesthesia test because we take in a number of facts about you to give you the best fragrances from our line that will fit you! We are trying to make the process of buying fragrance fun, interactive and approachable!

TRS: Are there any perks to using Pinrose products?

P: We made the 10 premium fragrances using the best Master Perfumes in the world (i.e. we work with the same perfumers as Tom Ford), using the highest quality, most sustainable ingredients on the market. We made one in each olfactory preference category--ranging from aromatics through citrus, floral, all the way to dry woods. That way, our friends (and you) could literally smell the rainbow. If you don't like on scent there are 9 more to try!

TRS: What are some popular fragrances for this season?

P: For fall/winter our most popular fragrances tend to be Sugar Bandit because of warmth of the vanilla and caramel. Also Treehouse Royal, Campfire Rebel and Pillowtalk Poet are fall time faves.

Also, each "petal pack" has descriptions on the back that tell you which occasion the scent is perfect for, what traits it matches, etc.

Take the test on Pinrose HERE and let me know what your results were in the comments below!

Smell ya later,
